The Schmuland Family has departed Canada! We left Calgary on Jan 6th for a week filled of Disney Princesses and endless competitions on the Buzz Light year ride..(we all know who the true champion is)
The kids had a great time dragging Trent, my Mom and I all over the place in search of characters and more rides to go on. Everett was just a shy short for most rides but was a trooper most days 🙂
One of Emma’s favorite things of Disney was having lunch in Ariel’s Grotto (for those without kids that is Ariel the princess) All Ariel’s friends were there to take pictures and sign autographs… oh to be a little girl again,,,,what parents won’t do for them!
Emma also loved the Christmas parade which we were fortunate enough to see on its last day for this Christmas season. My Mom and Trent loved this parade also. It was a nice treat to see the park all decorated still, especially the ride “Its a Small Small World” My mom was most disappointed though that the Haunted House was closed due to decoration removal… sorry mom.
Easton says his favorite was the STAR TOURS ride… Between Trent and I we must of taken him on the ride at least 4-5 times a day. It was pretty cute he still thinks it is a new robot each time the ship was in flight. So easy to satisfy little guys.
Easton also showed everyone his moves at the Block Party dancing up a storm and screaming as loud as he could. If you go to Disney don’t miss this party parade it’s awesome.
Our little red head (easton) was chosen out of the crowd to undergo the test of his strength in the “Sword of the Stone” ceremony and to be crowned by the Disney Wizard.
The show went something like this. The Wizard called upon a grown man to pull the sword out of the stone… man could not do it.. wizard calls Easton up… Easton could do it and puts the grown man to shame… Wizard makes man bow and kiss the ground Easton walks on because Easton now holds all the strength and is the chosen one… man makes an a** of himself and everyone laughs. Now Easton is pretty proud of his honor. GREAT JOB BUDDY.
Everett was in shock when the real Lightning McQueen and Mater from the CARS movie came driving down the street. It was pretty cool to watch the kids go wild over these amazing machines. It was amazing how perfect these cars were, Trent was like a little kid looking them over.
We took the kids to the Pirate Dinner Theatre in Anaheim, that was pretty good fun. Trent even got up on stage on did the KAN-KAN with a few other guys, GREAT entertainment. This is a very interactive show. Easton volunteered to be a soldier to save the princess and the pirates used the audience to compete in competitions. It was fun night. The picture below was with our pirate “Jack” he won all the competitions, Emma says he was the best!
Yesterday we did a full day at Disneyland, rushed back to the hotel to catch our shuttle at 8:00pm and checked in for our flight to Central America. I do have to say that we have an excess amount of luggage this trip. When we sold our house and started packing the house up I think I was so overwhelmed with packing our belongings up I started to put alot of stuff in our bags to bring to Panama (makes for interesting taxi rides and check in… ah honey 🙂
Our plane was delayed and we finally took off at 1:00am LA time and with exhausted kids and a very sick husband (tummy trouble, but better now) we made it to Panama six long hours later. We did good this trip considering past experiences.. the airline ONLY lost our stroller, could of been worse as we know 🙂
After we collected our luggage we were greeted with two smiling faces, our contacts Sharmilla and Mossy who waited for us THANKFULLY! We have been truly blessed with wonderful people everywhere we go who help us with open arms.
The girls have now brought us to our hotel that is a remodeled Army house that the USA military occupied years ago. In the neighborhood we are in right now which is Albrook there are old army barracks all redone turned into some amazing homes. When we go out I will take some pictures, I would love to do that with a house some day. We are surrounded by lush green palm trees and flowering trees. I already feel a nice change with my skin, it is not cracking and hurting like I get in Calgary.
Before I forget we stayed at the Residence Inn Marriott on Clementine Street in a family suite. It was a great place to stay. My blogs are my journal also, so I write things so I do not forget them (some inside info)
I want to thank you for following and supporting our craziness at times. This trip is a bit different since we sold everything and essentially homeless 🙂 scary for some, challenge for us.. haha.. We run on chaos I guess, nothing else explains it.
We always love to hear from you so please if you get a chance leave a message on this blog or email us at schmulandj@gmail.com.
I also want to say a quick thank you for my beautiful bracelet from Trent and all the special people in my life you know who you are, home is always on my wrist. love you all!!!
I am functioning with very little sleep right now so excuse all grammar and spelling mistakes in advance. As for our plan in the next week. Hopefully find a furnished apartment to stay in for a month or so then we can have a chance to tour around the city and check out schools. So until next time, STAY WARM… we are heading out to the pool now and thinking of you all.. hahaha all our love

Great to hear from you! I have thought about you guys a lot since you left…we got really cold weather- I thought of you…I heard something about Aspenwoods- I thought about you…Saw a commercial for Disneyland- thought about you…and so it goes. Happy to hear all the flying is over and you’ve reached you destination. I have got to get to Disneyland or Disneyworld, probably when Thomas is older. I was a sad and deprived child whose parents never took her.
I am excited to see the return of the blog, I loved them last time. Good luck house hunting. I read that Brad and Angelina were recently in Panama so maybe you can take over their digs…that would be nice I’m sure. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Take care,
Ginger
