2011 Rolls On 🙂
The Yee Peng Lantern Festival is one of my favorite times of year. The peace and harmony that surrounds this event is unexplainable. To hear the Monks all chant together and to watch rituals of this ancient practice is so beautiful.
~ Yee Peng Lantern Festival ~
(A view over the crowd as they are on their knees listening to the head Monk give his speech. Breathtakingly beautiful)
(The kids getting their lantern filled with hot air to release into the sky)
(The bell has sounded and the lanters are released all at the same time. The sky is lite up magically)
(So beautiful)
Our new family pet ~ Eddie ~
(Here is Eddie our new pet. Eddie is a Sugar Glider and is the coolest little guy. They bond to humans and do not like to be alone. Eddie spends most of his time in someones pocket or curled up in one of our shirts)
(Eddie is so fun. He is considered an exotic animal and can not travel with us on a plane easily so it will be hard for Trent to leave him when we travel long distances)
(If you look closely at the diver of this monster truck and you will see Eddie 🙂 The kids have a blast making Eddie transport vehicles and watching him race all over)
~ Mama’s Visit ~
A huge surprise to the kids that my Mom was coming. A hard secret to keep, many slip ups we had over the months but the kids were none the wiser. I picked Mama up at the airport, brought her home and the kids stopped dead in their tracks as they could not believe who got out of the car. Always fun surprising them 🙂
(The kids wanted to take my Mom to Sukantara for lunch and show her the beautiful surroundings. We had a lot to show Mom in her month here)
(LOVED these little kids. Went up to Doi Sutep a hillside temple overlooking Chiang Mai and these cuties were there)
(Mom experiencing lots of culture)
(A night of fireworks in our backyard, they really lit up the sky)
(The kids with Mom and Moe. Always entertainment around here)
(Emmy celebrating her 12th birthday with her buddies over for a slumber party. Amy. Sara. Rigpi. Makayla and of course her bros)
(Spent the weekend at the Horizons Resort with Mom. We had a lot of fun exploring the botanical gardens, the labyrinth maze and racing around in our paddle boats ~ Mom and I kicked butt)
(The pool right outside our room was great for these water rats)
(It is so much fun capturing these moments)
(Emma and I had to take Mom to our favourite market ~ Sunday Night Walking Street…. Lots of people as you can see. It was pretty crazy up here for a while due to the extensive flooding situation in Bangkok, everyone came north and we sure could feel the increase of people around the city)
(This was Mom’s favourite spot… getting a foot rub or a Thai/oil massage. Not sure how many she had, I lost count)
(Ev at the schools Founders Day enjoying free cotton candy ~ he got his year supply on this stick)
(Give me a nose. Took Mom for a delicious Sunday brunch at the Four Seasons, kids love going)
~ She Did IT ~
Another unforgettable experience for dear Mom was hanging out with some amazing elephants for the day. It was a fun definitely lots of laughs to say the least 🙂 Enjoy the video…haha..
(a great video of facing ones fears 🙂
I hope you are having a wonderful 2012 so far. We are approaching Valentines Day so I hope you find time to show someone how much they mean to you x x x
With lots of love
