Chapter 3. WT. Varanasi. India

How is INDIA? FIMG_2667ascinating!!!
*We started the journey to India a bit rough. Our plane was delayed over 5 hours on (Feb 4th) and in all of our many year of traveling and countless number of planes, we missed that flight from Kuala Lumpur – Chennai, India. (One day that story may be funny Β πŸ˜‰ Because of that missed flight it sent a ripple affect for many costly days trying to get to India. During our visit to India it is festive season and getting a flight was challenging. However we finally landed in New Delhi on Feb 7th @ 10pm.IMG_2673

Immigration was interesting with Trent getting his paper thrown back at him by the Immigration officer for not having the hotel address directly on him. After a bit of sweet talking we got our visas and got stamped through.

All our bags arrived (YA!) Found our driver outside in the sea of hundreds of men, exhausted we piled into our “bus” and drove to meet my contact with our additional paperwork. OMG, we drove and drove finally meeting whom we needed and preceded to our hotel. After being lost for over an hour the driver finally found the hotel for us to then be turned away at 1:00am (India time) 3:30am Thai time! We were then directed to a completely different hotel which we all slept in our clothes not only from exhaustion but it was soooo gross. (all about the experience right?)

IMG_2676Up at 5:25am to then head back to the airport to catch our flight for 7:30am. The visibility was at times completely zero as it was a freezing 10 degrees. The crazy old man driver not only ran multiple red lights he almost drove us right into a cement road divider. Finally arriving at the airport which we could not see it was so foggy we proceeded to check in. Passing through security was interesting as there is a line for men and one for woman. The woman go into a small curtained booth to be padded down by a female officer.

Another plane delay and after many hours we finally boarded and flew to Varanasi India one of the holiest, oldest cities in the world. We have all caught up on sleep and can’t get enough of the amazing food.

Now to go exploring!
P.S. Internet is SUPER slow so very limited right now.

*Also finally my website is ba
ck up and running, all reconfigured atΒ www.wheretokids.com. I will try to get on there if internet allows.
